Liberating

Loud music, bright lights, dim corners, plenty of booze.
These have been my constant companions for the past two weekends. I grew tired of partying years ago and opted for the chill drinking sessions with friends. When a new found long-lost friend invited me out to party, I readied myself since it has been a while since I really danced all night complete with a huge crowd, drinks and good music.
My first time back in the party scene, I ended up going home at 7 AM. LOL. I really enjoyed myself. After chugging 5 bottles of beer in one party, I went out to meet my friend. Paid the fees, grabbed 3 more bottles and started dancing. Every one was in full party mode. It was nice to see so many sets of friends from school, dance, work etc. It was indeed a great night.
So, what did I do after I had all that alcohol in my system? No, I didn't puke. I made sure of that. I partied like it was my first, like I was some sheltered girl who had her first night out in town. It was exhilarating. I could not remember the last time partying ever felt that good.
Once a party boy, always a party boy.
Danced with a lot of people, worked the crowd, flirted with a handful and kissed a few. It was indeed an insane night.
It was a new found freedom that I dearly missed. I guess I got too preoccupied with a group of friends that I forgot to try other things. Things may have turned ugly, yet here I am, having the best time meeting new people, building connections and enjoying myself.
How did I find the entire experience?
Liberating.

Vampires Suck

When I first saw the trailer of this movie, I thought it was kinda funny. But I knew deep inside that this will be one of those parodies that would literally suck. True enough, it lived up to it's title because it really suck. The film was so awful that it made me laugh. Good thing I didn't spend a single cent for this movie.
I am up for anything vampire related since I am a fan of the Twilight Saga (yuh, fan girl here, so what?), I wanted to watch this knowing that it would not be worth my money. Thanks to my friend who has a ton of free passes, we decided to waste two on this movie.
My thoughts? Hmmm. One has to be somewhat familiar with pop culture and of course, vampire movies. The douchebags and skanks of the Jersey Shore were represented, Alice in Wonderland also made an appearance and Lady Gaga dated Edward Sullen. I know, crazy right? Haha! The one saving grace of the movie was the guy who played Jacob White, Chris Riggi. He sure lived up to the role of Twilight's Jacob Black with his denim cut-offs and HOT body. He turned his lanky frame from Gossip Girl to the ripped one in the movie. Oh, did I say that he has a nice body? Haha!
As a whole, it was definitely worth it to watch it in the cinema. Might as well download it or just buy a clear copy DVD from the vendors. It was soooo crappy that it became funny... to some extent. ;)

Yes, It's Back
Last Sunday, September 12, 2010, more than 20,000 people went to the Araneta Coliseum to watch the much anticipated battle of the 8 squads from the the 8 schools of the UAAP. The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is one of the biggest events. Students, faculty, sponsors, alumni and fans all try to snag a ticket just to get inside the packed venue. Lucky Me, I got my tickets for free but I channeled the business major (or should I say scalper) in me and sold it double the price and bought a better seat, lowerbox. LOL
Anyway, after months of hardwork, three squads emerged victorious in the competition. The UP Pep Squad won the Championship again! Weeeeee!!!!!! Here's the HD Studio 23 version of UP's routine. Honestly, I like the first video more than this one. The Studio 23 coverage didn't give justice to the performance.
The FEU Cheering Squad showed amazing stunts and tumbling passes. Too bad it didn't work to their advantage. I actually thought that they would win. I think it was the choreography that cost them the championship.
The UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe is back on the top 3. Sorry, I could not find a better video of their routine.

H&M + Lanvin

Come November, H&M's collaboration with Paris-based fashion house Lanvin will hit stores. Lanvin's designer Alber Elbaz and men's designer Lucas Ossendrijver are set to debut their collaboration with fashion giant H&M. Before it was with Jimmy Choo, now Lanvin!!!!
I've seen some of the teasers and I think this collection will be amazeballs! I love Lanvin's trainers and clean cut clothes. Will we get to feel how a Lanvin jacket fits snugly without breaking the bank? Hmmm. Let's wait and see.
