Night at the Museum 2

I ried my best to stay at home last Sunday since I was out the entire Saturday. But since the weather has been insanely hot lately, I couldn't do anything but hit the mall. As usual, I was off to Trinoma to go window shopping. Actually, I tried on a few options for the wedding next Saturday. But my goal was really to watch Night at the Museum 2. Since nobody was there to accompany me, I watched it all alone.

I was in between two sets of lovers. The one on my left were really quiet and an older couple. The other irritating pair on my right kept on talking. I so wanted to tell them off but decided otherwise.

The movie was set two years after Larry Daly left the museum and became a successful CEO of his own business. One day, he decided to visit the Museum of Natural History only to find out that the exhibits have been packed and ready to be shipped to the Smithsonian archives. He receives an urgent call from Jedidiah so he decides to go to the Smithsonian. Together with old pals and new friends like Amelia Earheart, they must stop the villians Kamunrah, Ivan the Terrible and Napoleon Bonaparte from unleashing the army from the Underworld.

It was a funny movie. That was the first thing that came to mind since there were a lot of funny lines and scenes. The singing cherubs were a hit. I also loved the Thinking Man who was hitting on some marble maiden. I initially thought that the giant octopus was a foe but all he wanted was water. Haha! The costumes of the different characters were really great. Though, what I didn't like was that there was no closure on what happened at the Smithsonian. They sure left a lot of damage in it. Oh well, I still thought it was a relevant part.

If there was a lesson in the story, that would be doing what your heart truly desired. Larry gave up his company and went back to being a night guard at the museum. Most of us would say that this move is truly insane. But if you think of it, would you rather live comfortably but you're miserable with your work or would you live a simple life and you feel fulfilled?

As a whole, it was a great movie. It was worth the watch. It has funny scenes great for kids and it also has a lot of witty remarks that will surely entertain adults as well.
